CarePartners Senior Leadership Team

Tracy Buchanan, PT, MBA
President & Chief Executive Officer

photoTracy Buchanan serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of CarePartners Health Services, a nonprofit provider of post-acute care serving over 3,000 patients each day.  With over 1,100 employees and $80 million in annual revenue, CarePartners is one of the largest employers in Buncombe County.  

Tracy began her career as a physical therapist at CarePartners over 20 years ago and has held a variety of leadership roles prior to being named CEO in January 2009.  Tracy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in physical therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.  She is very active in the WNC community and chairs or sits on numerous nonprofit boards.

Tracy lives in Asheville with her husband, Scott Buchanan.  Her son Andrew recently graduated from Appalachian State University and her daughter Julia attends UNC-Chapel Hill.

Gary Bowers
Chief Operating Officer

photoGary Bowers has been the Chief Operating Officer since 2009. Bowers was previously the executive director of the WNC Health Network, a position he had held since 2000. Bowers received his Juris Doctor from Ohio State University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green University. Prior to his position with the WNC Health Network, he was a health care consultant with LarsonAllen Consultants, an accounting and consulting firm serving health care providers. He also served as the Executive Director of the NC Association for Home Care and practiced law with Tharrington & Smith in Raleigh. Gary and his wife, Nancy, have a daughter and live in Hendersonville.

Gregg Dixon
Chief Financial Officer

photoGregg has served as Chief Financial Officer for CarePartners since June 2011. In this role, he is directly responsible for all financial matters for CarePartners. Gregg has more than 20 years of financial management experience, encompassing a steady progression of increasing responsibilities and accomplishments. He most recently served as senior vice president of finance for a health care system in New York City for five years. The system comprised a 287-bed acute/psychiatric hospital and an extensive outpatient network of 13 satellite locations. He has also served in several financial leadership roles in Atlanta, Georgia, including CFO for a 120-bed hospital, CFO for the Georgia Medicaid Program and State Health Benefit Plan, and corporate controller and director of internal audit for a large home health agency. He is a graduate of Georgia State University with a bachelor of administration in accounting. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He serves on a number of boards for local community organizations. He and his wife Terri live in Asheville.

Charles "Chuck" C. Campbell, Chairman
President, Campbell & Associates International, Inc., Founder, Burnham Woods

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Campbell has more than 35 years of senior level management and independent consulting in international managed health care. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville and attended the graduate program at Harvard University. He served as the director of admissions at Harvard University School of Public Health in the late 1970s. He took an active role in the health care volunteer community by serving on the board of the Santa Barbara Visiting Nurse Association, and as corporate secretary and board president for the Executive Board of Hospice of Santa Barbara in the 1990s. He continued to volunteer locally while serving as vice chair of what was then Mountain Area Hospice. He joined the CarePartners Health Services Board of Directors in 2002. He has held the position of chairman of the board of directors since December of 2011. He also became chair elect of the CarePartners Foundation board in December 2011. Mr. Campbell is an invaluable member of the CarePartners board as an advisor, advocate and friend.
