Candy, living with spinal cord injury

I am Candy.
I am a retired elementary school teacher. I am a church musician. I am using a joystick to drive my wheelchair.
An accident last year left Candy paralyzed from a spinal cord injury. She went to CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital for intensive inpatient therapy. With help from CarePartners Wheelchair Seating & Mobility Clinic, Candy now uses a motorized wheelchair, customized just for her.
Now Candy’s in therapy at CarePartners Outpatient, strengthening her legs and learning to use a walker. Despite limitations in the use of her hands and arms, Candy’s goal is to one day be able to hold her grandchildren once again.
