Eddie, living with spinal cord injury
I am Eddie.
I am a wrestling fan. I am active in my church. I am paralyzed and living independently at home.
Eddie has been a CarePartners patient and client since 1986, when our Rehabilitation Hospital was called Thoms and our Home Health Services were known as VHP.
Eddie was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident. After spending time as an inpatient in the Rehabilitation Hospital, he returned to his Mars Hill home and began receiving home care.
With the help of the same CarePartners Home Health nursing assistant for 22 years, Eddie has continued to live an independent, active and productive life. He lives alone and spends his time repairing tools and electronics, video-taping church services for Bethel Baptist, and serving as a Weather Spotter for WLOS-TV.
