Established as a 20-bed haven for children with disabilities, CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital is now an 80-bed private, not-for-profit regional referral center. Care at CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital covers all levels of rehabilitation, from the treatment  of minor sports and work injuries on an outpatient basis to rehabilitation programs for serious and critical diseases such as stroke and spinal cord injuries. CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital has been recognized by the national Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, CARF, for our “qualified, energetic, committed and dedicated staff.”

Rehabilitation is a different process for every individual. For some it means learning to walk again; for others, adjusting to the challenges of a wheelchair or artificial limb. Relearning to tie a shoelace, comb one’s hair or feed one self for some can be a major achievement. But every accomplishment, every success, is one step closer to a fuller, more independent life.

Inpatient Services
CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital is a comprehensive rehabilitation facility that offers a wide spectrum of programs for patients with physical and cognitive impairments. Services available include:

Admission Criteria
Patients admitted to CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital generally have two or more appropiate functional deficits and must:
- be able to learn new information
- have potential for significant improvement
- be able to tolerate at least three hours of intensive rehabilitation activities per day
- require 24-hour-a-day nursing and physician availability
- need more services than those which can be provided by a skilled nursing facility
Also, to be admitted, there must be a reasonable expectation of timely discharge once goals have been met.

Accreditation and Licensing
CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital is a nonprofit agency that provides traditional and specialized rehabilitation programs to patients with physical and cognitive impairments. CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, CARF for Comprehensive Inpatient Services. CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital also maintains full compliance with all licensure and certification regulations of the State of North Carolina and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
