Our interdisciplinary approach provides patients with tools for home management and return-to-work activities and includes clinical coordination, physician management, physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, nursing, and behavioral medicine.

Patients who need 24-hour physician and nursing care are admitted to our inpatient program at Thoms Rehabilitation Hospital. Patients participate in a minimum of three hours of physical and occupational therapy each day. The therapies are designed to promote ambulation, range of motion, strengthening, self-care, dressing; home safety, bathroom modification and equipment, homemaking skills and community re-entry. Patients may also participate in aquatic therapy in our warm water pool. Aquatic therapy uses exercises and techniques to decrease pain, increase flexibility, strengthen muscles, and manage swelling.

Patients who don't require an inpatient stay may choose to participate in rehabilitation therapy at any one of our five convenient outpatient clinics. Our outpatient therapists are specially trained in orthopaedic, sports medicine, aquatic, and manual therapies.

For patients who require therapies at home, our home health therapists specialize in the treatment of bone, joint and muscle conditions. Therapies are begun within 48 hours of discharge from the acute care hospital. The number of visits per week is dependent on patient need.

Our Orthotics and Prosthetics services offer patients immediate post-operative prosthetics, post-operative spinal braces made to physician's specifications, custom designed prostheses for all levels of amputations, and specialty clinics for amputees and developmental orthopaedic needs.

Pre-operative Aquatic Therapy is available to anyone preparing for total joint replacement or spine surgery. This service aims to get patients back on their feet faster.

CarePartners Private Duty is available to assist patients and their families as needed, from running errands, shopping, and planning meals to full-time private duty nursing care.
