CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital

Stroke. Brain injury. Spinal cord injury. Multiple trauma. Joint replacement. Neurological disorders. Amputation. These are just a few of the conditions treated at CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital, a private, nonprofit center for acute rehabilitation in Asheville, North Carolina.
Comprehensive physical rehabilitation services since 1938.
An 80-bed regional referral center with rehabilitation programs for a multitude of illnesses, injuries and conditions, CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital started in 1938 as a 20-bed haven for children with disabilities. Formerly known as Thoms Rehabilitation Hospital, CarePartners is recognized across the Southeast as a trusted choice for physical medicine and rehabilitation services.
Rehabilitation can make a significant difference for patients.
Patients who come to CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital leave with a higher degree of improvement than patients who go to other rehabilitation hospitals. And patient satisfaction surveys assure us that they are happy with the services they receive from CarePartners.
Rehabilitation means different things for different people.
Rehabilitation is a different process for every individual. For some it means learning to walk again; for others, adjusting to the challenges of a wheelchair or artificial limb. Relearning to tie a shoelace, comb one’s hair or feed oneself can be a major achievement. Every accomplishment is one step closer to a fuller, more independent life.
Adults and teenagers whose illness or injury prevents them from being able to perform at least two everyday activities, such as walking, eating, speaking, or self-care, may be able to benefit from the services of CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital. Patients must be able to participate in rehabilitation activities for at least three hours per day.
Teamwork makes the difference in rehabilitation.
The patient is the most important member of the rehabilitation team. Family members are also considered to be part of the team and encouraged to participate in the rehabilitation process as they feel comfortable. Other team members include physicians, nursing staff and therapists with specialized training in rehabilitation.
Each patient’s condition and circumstances are closely evaluated to determine a treatment plan for that individual’s specific needs and abilities. A nurse care manager coordinates the plan and assists with communications among the patient, physician, team members, family members and caregivers, and outside resources. They all work together to help patients become as independent as possible in a timely manner.
Traditional and specialized rehabilitation programs and services.
In addition to traditional rehabilitation therapies, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, a comprehensive array of specialized programs and therapies are also available through CarePartners. In many cases, CarePartners is the only healthcare provider in the region with these services.
CARF Accreditation.
CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a CARF Three-Year Accreditation for the following:
Ask your doctor or discharge planner if CarePartners can help you. A CarePartners nurse or clinician can also determine how our services can meet your unique needs.
