Movement in water is often easier and less painful than on land. Aquatic physical therapy in a warm-water CarePartners pool provides countless benefits for individuals with a variety of needs.
Water is an excellent environment for therapeutic exercises.
Aquatic therapy, also known as pool therapy, works specific muscle groups and joints. It can:
Customized programs for each individual’s needs and comfort level.
Diagnosis, rehabilitation goals, and comfort level in the water are all considered when CarePartners aquatic physical therapists develop a treatment plan. You do not need to know how to swim in order to successfully participate.
Aquatic therapy is available at three convenient locations:
Aquatic therapy patients learn exercises they can continue to use to maintain the benefits of therapy, fitness, and conditioning after therapy sessions are completed. Membership at the Outpatient Center pool is available to aquatic therapy “graduates,” providing them the opportunity to work individually on their aquatic programs.
The Community Arthritis (CAT) class is led by a therapist offering general stretching and conditioning exercises for people with arthritis. A doctor’s release is required to participate. One does not need to have been a patient to participate in this class.
