Kids Path Bereavement Program

RETURN TO PREVIOUS PAGE

The death of a loved one is a time of crisis for every member of a family. In some instances, adults’ grief can be so overwhelming and painful that children become the forgotten grievers.

Kids Path: A Special Place for Grieving Children

logoCarePartners Kids Path Program offers grief counseling to any child (aged 5-17) in Buncombe County who has lost a loved one.

Kids Path offers a variety of expressive arts and play therapy to allow children full expression of their grief in a safe, supportive environment. One-on-one or group counseling with a children’s grief counselor is available at the child’s school or in our Kids Path Counseling Center on the CarePartners main campus.

Support for Parents, Families and the Community

Parents are encouraged to participate in Kids Path by joining in on occasional family sessions with their child or children. Parents can learn more about CarePartners bereavement services for adults here.

We also provide presentations and workshops to the community about children and grief. We invite you to contact Kids Path directly regarding any talk you’re interested in offering at your school or elsewhere in the community.

Is Kids Path Right for You?

For more information, please contact our Children’s Bereavement Counselor, Tom Adams, MA, NCC, LPCA, at 828-277-4800, ext. 41012.

Kids Path is funded in part by United Way, in addition to grants and private donations from the community. We do not charge a fee for our services.
